The New Community Corporation, which distributes the gifts and donations from SRLA's annual Christmas gift-giving program, recently expressed their gratitude in a heart-warming letter. The letter reads, in part:
"You all were instrumental in providing tangible sigs of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas by giving a sea of toys reminiscent of the Sears and Roebuck "Wish Book" of yesteryears, coats, games, grocery store gift cards, and retail gift cards to Newark's deserving families.
"Without question, your generosity helped ease the burden of hundreds of financially struggling families who could not buy enough Christmas gifts for their children. And the parents cannot thank you enough for your compassion. The smiles were wide and endless, and, in some cases, toothless on Christmas morning."
