Counting Down to BINGO!
 
We hope you can all join us on Saturday, February 25 for Designer Bag BINGO!
 
Doors open at 6pm and BINGO begins at 7pm. This is an adult-only event. Tickets are $35 each and the ticket price includes 12 rounds of BINGO.
 
The night will also include:
  • A Lucky Draw Raffle where you can buy tickets to win fun accessories! ($25/sheet)
  • A Golden Raffle where you can buy tickets to win one of three even more fabulous purses, one retailing for almost $1000! ($10/ticket) 
  • A Wine Bar (free, thanks to our wonderful sponsor, Ann Laskowski!)…but, please feel free to also BYOB!
  • A Dessert Bar…..yummy homemade treats! 
 
And we would love your help! Please sign up to volunteer or bring a dessert!

Assembly in Celebration of Black History Month
On Tuesday, February 21, SRLA proudly presents an encore performance by the artist Yahaya Kamate and ensemble to entertain our students with African dance and storytelling.
 
Parents are invited to join us!
 
Grades Pre-K – 4th: 9:30 am-10:30 am
Grades 5th – 8th : 10:30 am-11:30 am
 
Kamate is a native of the Ivory Coast. As a former member of the National Ballet of the Ivory Coast, he first came to the United States to honor his country by touring with the ballet in 1994. In 1997, he established himself in the Sunshine State. Kamate performed at Busch Gardens, the Animal Kingdom, and Epcot Center for two years before coming back to New York and the tri-state area where he teaches in both public and private schools. He practices African Dance, Drumming, Modern Dance, and Ballet. Currently, he is an instructor at Alvin Ailey, a performer and dance teacher at Friends Academy, and a Teaching Artist with Bronx Arts Ensemble.
