Weekly Covid Update
Dear SRLA Families,
As Covid cases fall slightly in New Jersey, SRLA will take the following steps for next week, January 18-21, 2022:
We will have a full-day schedule next week. This decision will continue to be made on a weekly basis. Continued recommendations for our students to wear masks and highly recommend the use of KF94, and N95 masks. Masks are readily available for all students, teachers and staff at the front desk.
- We will continue to not offer aftercare next week (1/18-21/22).
- Our lunch service will resume next week and lunches will be consumed in the classrooms.
As many questions have been sent my way, I would like to pass along the latest information sent to me from the Archdiocese.
I understand that several parents have relayed that virtual options should be available for students quarantining at home but Archdiocesan rules will not allow us to offer virtual as an option.
Recommendations for Very High COVID-19 Activity Levels (Red): All four counties of the Archdiocese currently are classified as RED, meaning that they have very high Covid-19 Activity Levels. Please review your current mitigation strategies, and revise as needed to ensure sufficient distancing, limiting of student and staff interaction, and effective cohorts. NJDOH recommends that in addition to following current NJDOH guidance, K-12 schools located in regions with very high COVID-19 CALI activity levels (bolded recommendations are new) should:
- Continue to adhere to mask mandates as outlined in EO 251.
- Continue to promote layered prevention strategies such as physical distancing, screening testing, handwashing, cleaning, improved ventilation, staying home when sick, etc.
Monitoring of Local Conditions: We will continue to closely monitor conditions in our school and general community.
Again, thank you parents, teachers and staff for your continued perseverance in the face of these rapidly changing metrics in our area. Your focus on the safety and continuity of learning for your students is appreciated.
Please remember, If you traveled outside of NY, NJ, CT, DE or PA, you must return a Covid Questionnaire upon your return. Your child will be sent home if it is brought to our attention that you have traveled.
Please see the link below for updated travel timelines for vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.
