Preparing for March 7th lifting of Mask Mandate
Dear SRLA Families,
As we transition from our mandated mask wearing to optional mask wearing on Monday, March 7th. I would like to make you aware of our enhanced protocols given that the safety of all of our students and staff remain our top priority. Some of our highlighted areas include:
Cleaning Protocol
SRLA will continue to provide deeper, more frequent cleaning and disinfecting throughout the building, a practice that has served us well over the last two years.
Key efforts:
- Classrooms will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected by our cleaning crew both during the day by Johnny and after school hours by our night cleaning crew.
- Water fountains/stations will continue to be sanitized regularly; we will continue to cover/disable mouth dispensers so only the bottle-filling option is available for our students. Students who forget their refillable water bottles are offered single Poland Spring water bottles in the office.
Classroom Spaces
Our aim is to use classroom spaces in a way that conforms with the applicable guidelines.
- Student desks and tables in the classrooms will all face in the same direction
- Wherever possible, seating will be spaced to allow for the recommended social distancing.
- Desk shields will remain in place for the remainder of the school year.
Moving Throughout the School
- All Middle School students will enter and exit through the main door for mask checks each morning and move directly to their homerooms.
- All students in grades k-4 will enter and exit through the Devine Center door for mask checks and go directly to their homerooms.
- All Pre-school students will enter and exit through the playground door for mask checks and go directly to their homerooms
- Students who arrive late will sign in at the main door with Danny and will have a mask check when they receive their late pass for entrance to their homeroom or scheduled class already in progress.
Air Purification
Our goal is to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission by supplying the cleanest and highest quality air possible throughout each and every classroom and public area by using HEPA air purifiers throughout
Key Efforts:
- Air Purification Systems and UV-C systems (pictured in the Raven Rundown) used in all classrooms to scrub the air and dramatically reduce the viral load in the air
Lunch
Lunch will be served in the cafeteria in four shifts. Four additional tables have been added so that students may be seated in every other seat which allows every student to be socially distanced while eating their lunch. Once the weather turns warmer, we may once again utilize the 16 picnic tables on our grounds.
Remember, our priorities are Safety, Presence and Student growth. I ask that you please refer to the school website for the complete Return-To-School Plan accessible directly from our homepage. https://www.srlacademy.org/
